NFL s Panthers edge Giants in ill-tempered thriller

NFL discussing discipline for Odell Beckham Jr. this morning, but based on conversations with league sources, a 1-game suspension is likely.

Things escalated as the Giants fell into a 35-7 deficit, with Beckham raising the stakes with this completely over-the-line helmet to the side of an unsuspecting Norman’s head.

NY tied the score after trailing by 28 points in the third quarter, but the Panthers got to 14-0 on Graham Gano’s 43-yard field goal as time expired. They still have a chance to secure the No. 1 seed if they win out and Carolina (14-0) loses its last two games.

“This is the most disappointed 14-0 locker room I’ve ever seen in my life, and rightfully so”, Harper said. They repeatedly got into it, shoving and wrestling with each other. “Players like that don’t need to be in the game”.

“I’ve been blessed to have a guy like Cam Newton who continues to give me opportunities”, Ginn said.

Marquee receiver Beckham and premier cornerback Norman waged an ferocious battle spiked by trash talking, grabbing, pushing, punching, kicking and a serial display of cheap shots that earned both players several penalties.

With starter Jonathan Stewart out with a foot injury, Artis-Payne received the most extensive action of his rookie season in the Panthers’ victory over the Giants.

“I’m a competitor. We are always going to go at it. Anybody who has played sports – you are competitive and you are going to go as hard as you can”, he said after the game.

“It’s fine if he wants to dance and prance around like a ballerina but he shouldn’t try to be something he’s not”, Norman said. When Beckham scored the tying touchdown with Norman in coverage in the final minutes, he stepped over the Panthers corner.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin never removed Beckham from the game, although he said he had given it “strong consideration”. – Kirk Cousins equaled his career high with four touchdown passes and ran 13 yards for another score, helping Washington win consecutive games for the first time in more than a year and stay atop the NFC East.

“If you’re gonna be Michael Jackson and go around and dance and play and do all the other stuff and not be a football player and not train the way you’re supposed to train, it goes to show”. “The maturity level on him is just as a little kid”. “You’re out there competing against one of the best teams in the league, an undefeated team”, he said.

I think it’s only fair that Norman and OBJ duke it out in the cage in the off-season to settle this matter.

“It shouldn’t have been a thriller, I’ll tell you that”, Newton said during his postgame press conference.
