Google Working On Split-Screen Support For Android Tablets
Apple also lets iPad users split their screen into two having introduced the support feature on iOS 9.

In a Reddit AMA, Android and Chrome UX director Glen Murphy has explained that his team is working on some ways to make Android more productive – including split-screen multi-tasking.
There is a lot right with the Pixel C, but there are still a few things for Google to work on too. It seems as though Android tablet users will need to wait for Android “N” to see improvements when it comes to multitasking features. They largely ignored critiques about the Pixel C’s software issues, saying broadly, “We’re working hard on a range of enhancements for Android”. Many apps don’t have dedicated tablet versions and basic productivity tools such as split-screen multitasking have yet to make an official appearance.
To clear up any possible confusion, Google’s Consumer Hardware Director Andrew Bowers added: “Split screen is in the works!” Unfortunately, no specific date was revealed or if it would be pushed out to the Pixel C first, new Android tablets, or as an update for Android tablets are currently out being sold now. “But it is definitely a chicken-egg problem, and we think a key driver is awesome hardware”. The Pixel C actually started out as a Chrome OS device, or a Chrome OS Tablet. There are four microphones on the sides of the device, but the only plug is a USB-C port used for charging and desktop connection.

The Pixel C is the Google’s big chance towards the convertible device launch. But Google claims that it is working with different developers to come up with awesome apps for Android tablets. With the previous dual-boot project being cancelled just two months before, that didn’t leave a whole lot of time for Google to get Android up and running on the Pixel C and really take advantage of that form factor, especially with that keyboard. If you were to check out other reviews of the tablet, many of them scored the tablet pretty high in terms of hardware quality, but more than one review said that Google’s choice of using Android somehow made the tablet feel a bit lacking.
