“I would not be surprised if his campaign mobilized on behalf of another candidate”. He followed up the announcement with a video posted on his campaign website.

“I have seen Americans partner with people in the region and that’s the way forward”.
S.C. Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore credited Graham for “changing the course of the race” with his concentration on foreign affairs and addressing the war on terror.
Many influential South Carolina GOP donors have been backing Graham out of loyalty to the state’s senior senator. “We’ve fallen short here, but the fight continues”. To those in the Republican Party who want to win, check my plan out. I regret that I never got on the big stage. “It was much needed during this time of crisis”, tweeted Rick Santorum, who has like Graham been relegated to the lower tier debates in the race.
“If Trump was not in this, then Graham would poll pretty high in South Carolina”, Aiesi said. He failed to even qualify for the undercard round in the Fox Business debate in November. “I think a lot of big names in SC will be inclined to stay neutral, but some people will maybe feel more open to declaring an allegiance to another candidate now”, she told Business Insider.
“I believe we have made enormous progress in this effort, ” Graham added.
But Graham may hardly be the most highly sought-after Republican endorsement in SC. In his home state, a recent Winthrop poll showed support from only 2 percent of GOP voters.
Graham previously had said he planned to wait until the February 9 New Hampshire primary to re-evaluate his campaign. “I’m not going to be competitive outside my state”. His campaign said he would be taking time off for Christmas to spend with his family before re-engaging in the political process.
Rubio, speaking with reporters Monday in Rochester, N.H., said Graham is “a good guy… a very amusing guy… we’ll miss his humor”. “You’re doing really well”.
“Speaking with his campaign this morning, it seems like they would at least take the holidays to decide”, Moore said.
Gilmore also retweeted a follower saying he hoped Gilmore would be included in more presidential debates with Graham ending his campaign. “We need to win, we need to win fighting for Americans”. “Watch what you say over here”. McCain was the nominee of party in 2008, and still holds some influence within the party.

Democrats painted Graham’s exit as a sign the Republican Party has lost its way, breaking promises to be inclusive in favor of policies of discrimination. The confirmed bachelor had suggested his sister and various female friends for the role of First Lady in what would have made an excellent reality show. “I’ve really been busting my butt to try to understand this war”. “I have no regrets about running for president”. But that’s just about me. In January, when Graham announced his presidential exploratory committee, he was excited about the chance to challenge Senator Rand Paul to a foreign policy debate. “It has been the joy of my life to run for President of the United States”.
