Giants Beckham hit with one-game suspension
Although the officials on the field somehow didn’t find it just to throw the Giants superstar out of the game, the National Football League stepped in and levied a one-game suspension on Monday. But he wasn’t the only player left stunned by the Panthers’ 38-35 win, secured only by Graham Gano’s 43-yard field goal as time expired. Norman also drew a flag for hitting Beckham in the helmet.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin spoke about the situation, and his player.
“I will not defend his actions yesterday because they were wrong and this franchise and organization does not tolerate that”, Coughlin said. “And we’ve got a tricky week with Christmas”.
Those allegations surfaced later, but after the game, Panthers coach Ron Rivera focused on his team’s loss of composure. “Like I’ve said, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there”. That’s real talk. DM me, whatever. “And I thought his teammates handled it very well”.
“A lot of people will start pointing that way that this is a great opportunity to evaluate players in regular-season games”, Garrett said Monday. The NFC South champions can clinch home field with a win or tie in their last two games (at Atlanta, Tampa Bay at home) or a tie or loss by the Cardinals.
According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Beckham apparently believed the Panthers were threatening to end his day by wielding the bat in front of the Giants’ sideline in his presence.
Carolina has carried the bat during pregame warmups throughout the year to symbolize “laying the wood”, which illustrates its physical style of play.
Video from before the game shows Norman gripping and slightly swinging the bat before the game.
Though I was stunned Sunday by the extreme manifestation of that rage, nothing Beckham did changed my opinion about what inspires him. Of the 14, the source said Beckham instigated two incidents with cornerback Cortland Finnegan and 10 with Norman.
NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks ruled that Beckham’s actions placed his opponents at unnecessary risk of injury and should have been avoided. After Sunday’s game, Beckham refused to discuss his run-ins with Norman.
Beckham has three days to appeal. Beckham is 23 years old, and he spent three hours showcasing his youth and immaturity before millions of witnesses.
Tensions between Beckham and Norman grew, however, before the game even had its first snap.
Beckham will forfeit $52,529, or one-seventeenth of his 2015 salary of $893,009.
In a response to a tweet from ESPN’s Skip Bayless criticizing the first half performance from Beckham Jr. on Sunday, look at Norman’s choice of emojis.
Norman, who fancies himself a Batman fan, made a reference to the comic book hero and his rivals during the interview when comparing what happened on the field Sunday. That’s no Joker, man, that’s no Joker. That man knows what he was doing. The league moved the Vikings into primetime last week, and now faces the possibility of having the two biggest names in the contest unavailable to play. That’s who he is.
“He just cried a little bit so I didn’t think that was really necessary”, Manning said. “We all know that the personal battles have no presence in the game of football, not at any level”, Coughlin said, echoing the message he said he gave his team in Monday’s meeting.

“It shouldn’t have been a thriller, I can tell you that”, Carolina quarterback Cam Newton said after the game.
