Crews are setting up a massive tent and fans are already lining up in advance of the Star Wars world premiere in Los Angeles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, over 15,000 tickets have been pre-sold in Russian Federation for “The Force Awakens” – the highest number the country’s box office has ever seen.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens could generate double that much revenue by itself if either the film is a big hit or IMAX takes a larger share of the gross than I’ve outlined above. Now acting as one of the chief gatekeepers of all things Star Wars, J.J. Abrams has been doing the press rounds in anticipation of The Force Awakens’ release next week, and the director recently touched base with the sequel’s deleted scenes.
More showings are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. December 25-27 and January 1-3 and 8-10.
The movie is actually only a week and half before its premiere date, but Luke Skywalker is still nowhere to be found, bringing up several speculations with fans asking the same question, “Where is Luke Skywalker?”. The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Lucasfilm, ABC, ABC Family and this station.
He will be accompanied for the back-to-back screenings by his mother and his wife, also avid fans.
The film has already broken records by making over $50m (£33m) in advance ticket sales, and by the time of the film’s release this could be $100m (£66m).
Official Star Wars merchandise will also be available to purchase at the cinema.
Their call has been seen as a satirical riposte to a controversial wave of mosque building on campuses across the country, but in a statement, the petition’s organizers insisted Turkish Jedi knights were in dire need of training.
Tibbs Drive-In Theatre will show the film on two screens beginning Thursday night.
