Steve Harvey, the pageant’s host, announced on Sunday night that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez had won the coveted Miss Universe title. “The first runner-up is Colombia”, Harvey said. “We congratulate Miss Universe Philippines as Miss Universe 2015”. One of the contestants is speaking out, telling a reporter she’s not happy with who ended up with the crown.

Miss Columbia was consoled by other contestants but she was just inconsolable.

Other beauty pageant insiders said another possible solution could have been crowning co-winners. In 2010 during a live broadcast of Australia’s Next Top Model, the host Sarah Murdoch named the wrong victor, and eventually corrected the mistake, after the first runner up already made her victory speech.
