BOT Turbo+ robot vacuum adds AR and guard dog features
First up is LG, who is giving everyone an advance look at their HOM-BOT Turbo+, which puts augmented reality to work. As it is, robot vacuum cleaners are already pretty awesome so the addition of augmented reality technology should jazz things up. The HOM-BOT Turbo+ then automatically goes to the location and begins the cleaning. The HOM-BOT Turbo+ is also equipped with Robonavi, which is an intelligent software which utilizes HOM-BOT’s dual CPU in order to give him directional data. Also included in the line-up is the CordZero Bedding Cleaner. Owners can open the vacuum’s app and use the camera to take a picture of the floor area they want cleaned, tapping on specific spots that need extra attention. The front camera also doubles as a security feature, so users can view a live feed from the vacuum on their phone, or receive photos when the vacuum detects movement. But so far, the HOM-BOT is the only one that turns users’ smartphone cameras into a set of eyes. From there, the owner can see all around the house, and the vacuum’s sensors will indicate if an area of the house has been cleaned.
