Outraged Colombians look for blame in Miss Universe mix-up
Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez is mistakenly crowned Miss Universe 2015 during the 2015 MISS UNIVERSE show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, California, on December 20, 2015.

While another added: “YOU are such a LOSER!!!congratulations for being in top 80.Miss Philippines is the victor so MoveOn”. Later, the crown was taken off from Miss Columbia and it was put on the head of Miss Philippines.
Social media is abuzz with opinions on Miss Germany’s statements with many people believing that she is critical of Miss Philippines as she has a German last name Wurtzbach.
And for her part, Miss Colombia composed herself to give a very classy concession speech.
The Miss Universe contestant from the Philippines is this year’s victor but for one brief moment, it appeared as if it might be a repeat win for Colombia. She had already been crowned by the previous year’s Miss Universe, also from Colombia, when Harvey returned to the stage to apologize. “Are you going to take the crown from me now?’ And they (said), ‘No, no, you’re really the victor'”. “I’m so sorry to say that”.
The new Miss Universe admitted she’s “still in awe of everything”, and that she half expects the tiara to be taken away from her, too.
“Everything happens for a reason, so I’m happy”, she said wiping tears from her eyes moments after leaving the stage. “Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines”. “I had some very dark moments where I thought about committing suicide”, she said.
Harvey explained on air that he misread the card he was given with the names of the winners.
Meanwhile, in an interview the morning after the debacle, former Miss Universe pageant owner Donald Trump has called for the crown to be shared instead. “Thank you all, thank you for voting for me”. He retweeted someone else’s comment that Trump must be happy that the pageant had gone “off the rails” after he sold it. “I mean, he was the biggest difference”.
The same can not be said for what happened when the wrong child was named victor at a Scottish beauty pageant for children this past summer.

This time around it was Harvey’s turn as the victim, albeit Twitter wasn’t as forgiving, with armchair comedians and those who have never made a mistake in their lives.
