Guardiola says he’s seeking ‘new challenge’ – Bayern chairman
Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich as head coach at the end of the season and be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed yesterday.

Guardiola won 14 trophies, including two Champions League crown during four years in the Barcelona hotseat, while the 44-year-old has guided league leaders Bayern successive Bundesliga titles since arriving at the Allianz Arena in 2013.
Having previously managed Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, too, in addition to three Champions League titles, it’s safe to say Bayern fans have no reason to worry that their place at European football’s top table isn’t under threat, under their hugely experienced new boss.
Bayern are set to win their third consecutive Bundesliga title under Guardiola but Rummenigge is excited for Ancelotti’s arrival.
Felix Magath is confident Carlo Ancelotti will prove to be a shrewd appointment for Bayern Munich as he prepares to replace Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola would bring less baggage than Mourinho and the Blues will need a strong, top, manager to rescue them with this season being a struggle for the reigning champions.
“So, Pep Guardiola will work here”.
Bayern have won the Bundesliga at a canter for each of the last three seasons, something which the Italian admitted he found boring only last October. The three-time Champions League victor expressed his desire to take a job in the Premier League, but he now claims that after hearing about Bayern’s interest, it didn’t take him long to decide his next move.
“Ancelotti is one of three of the most famous, and perhaps most talented, coaches of the last decade: Guardiola, Mourinho and Carlo”.
Guardiola has also been strongly linked with taking over from City boss Manuel Pellegrini in the summer. But in recent weeks the tone of Rummenigge’s statements changed, and he told Bild this was down to a change in the Catalan’s communication with the club from September on.
Manchester United is a viable option at the moment, especially when it seems likely that Louis van Gaal is making more enemies than friends at Old Trafford. “I am sure he will be very important for the club”.
If true that would appear a curious stance from the club although it is also possible that they know the Spaniard’s future plans are already decided and are therefore distancing themselves.

Madrid had won the 2014 Club World Cup on a streak of 22 consecutive victories between September and December that year to add to the Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup. But when is the future? You never know. It might be next year.
