NFL Suspends Odell Beckham Jr. For One Game
With the league office possibly poised to suspend Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for essentially losing his mind on Sunday, the Panthers believe that the Giants are trying to work the media to justify Beckham’s behavior.

The decision couldn’t have been easy for the league, considering the Giants-Minnesota Vikings game this week had been flexed to “Sunday Night Football”, and the Giants still have playoff hopes. Going without Beckham, one of the NFL’s most talented receivers, leaves a void in New York’s offensive game plan.
Carolina Panthers head coach, Ron Rivera, says the team is ready to look forward from Sunday’s game. This could include Norman, flagged twice for unnecessary roughness in the Panthers’ 38-35 win that kept them undefeated at 14-0.
Norman was particularly peeved with Beckham’s headhunting in the third quarter, when Beckham went out of his way to run 15 yards down field and dive head first into Norman’s helmet.
Odell Beckham Jr. carries the ball during a loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Giants (6-8) would lose their top offensive weapon for a game they nearly certainly must win to remain in the NFC East race.
A former NFL player, Derrick Brooks or James Thrash – jointly hired and paid by the NFL and the NFL Players’ Association – would handle the appeal of any fines or suspensions.
If the suspension is upheld, Beckham would not be permitted this week to be at the Giants’ practice facility.
Beckham was not ejected by the officiating crew during the game and was allowed to play.
With Beckham and Norman seeing what they could get away with, Coughlin, who said Sunday he wasn’t aware of Beckham’s penalties, could have taken him out of the game for a cooling-off period but did not. I have learned it all throughout my life you know, always second man gets called, always that it is just unfortunate.
“It was malicious in every way”, Norman said.

Beckham’s frustration seemed to grow after he dropped a sure touchdown pass from quarterback Eli Manning after beating Norman early in the first quarter.
