The girls at this point gave Tate of complimentary cup of lemonade, and Tate then began walking away.

Around 3:45 p.m., two girls, both 13, were selling lemonade near Mountain View Street and Terra Vista Avenue when Tate approached them, officials said. Within moments, the news release said, Tate turned around, pushed over the lemonade stand, grabbed the money box and ran off.

Tate told the girls that “he had no cash but wanted some lemonade”, the news release said.

Police accuse 18-year-old Santini Tate of making off with $30. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department at 909-477-2800. “I’m just wanting him to be dealt with his karma”, said Jenny Paige, mother of one of the girls.

The brother of one of the girls chased the suspect and managed to recover the money box but it was empty, Rancho Cucamonga police said.

Around 10 minutes later Deputy Beau Butters responding to the area successfully apprehended Tate, who met the description given to authorities of the perpetrator.
