Bill Cosby sues supermodel Beverly Johnson for defamation
MCKee is the latest alleged victim to sue for defamation – last week (ends18Dec15), Cosby launched a countersuit in MA against a group of seven women who accused him of sexual misconduct, only to have their accusations shot down and their credibility questioned. “The suit further states that defendant’s entirely fabricated accusations are nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to resuscitate her own career and benefit financially from the wave of media attention surrounding her false allegations against Mr. Cosby”, Pressley said in a statement Monday.

Cosby’s response comes in the wake of counterclaims his attorneys filed last week in a MA federal court against seven women who are suing him there for defamation.
According to the New York Daily News, the lawsuit points to Johnson’s recent memoir The Face That Changed It All and accuses her of “maliciously and falsely accusing Mr. Cosby” to gain limelight around her “flagging career as a model, actress and public personality”.
Cosby is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, a retraction of her statements, and the removal of the chapter from her memoir in which the incident is mentioned.
In recent years, more than 50 women have accused the comedian and actor of sexual assault or abuse.
Calling Johnson’s account “false, malicious, opportunistic, and defamatory”, the former JELL-O pudding pitchman’s team filed the suit in Superior Court of California in Los Angeles on Monday.
Just when you think the Bill Cosby scandal couldn’t get any yuckier, it hits a new nadir.
Cosby representative Monique Pressley said in a statement that “Mr. Cosby states that he never drugged defendant and her story is a lie”. No criminal charges have been filed against Cosby.

The comedian – best known for his role in the 1980s sitcom “The Cosby Show” – has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and has never been criminally charged. She claims that went on for about four years, starting when she was 16, and that Cosby helped pay for her college and would fly her to cities where he was performing and provide her with hotel rooms where he would have sex with her, until she cut off contact with him. She says denials by Cosby, his wife and his attorney that Cosby sexually abused women make her out to be a liar.
