FIFA tells Platini he can’t appeal directly to sports court
FIFA President Sepp Blatter and would-be successor Platini were both banned from the sport for eight years on Monday for ethics violations.

“And here I am, suspended from all football-related activity for eight years”.
Platini said his conscience was clear and that he would ultimately seek damages in civil proceedings.
European football leaders said the case was a worry however.
The FIFA ethics committee found Blatter and Platini had demonstrated an “abusive execution” of their positions.
As bank accounts were frozen, forensic software flagged up as suspicious a payment of 2 million Swiss francs ($2 million) Platini received from Blatter in early 2011.
Platini insisted there was nothing illegal in the oral contract he said was agreed with Blatter.
After the committee’s decision came down, a defiant Sepp Blatter held a news conference in Zurich, declaring his decision to “fight” the committee’s ruling.
“This is not correct”, Blatter said. Platini on Monday slammed the ban as a “masquerade” and vowed to fight it in court, while Vitaly Mutko, the Russian sports minister, said Blatter “did not deserve a ban”.
Swiss Blatter and 60-year-old Frenchman Platini have also been fined £33,700 ($50,000) and £54,000 ($80,000) respectively.
He spoke in four languages and translated his own German, French and Spanish answers into English, clearly relishing the attention of a big audience again.
Blatter himself had initiated the phase in the investigation that ultimately led to him being exiled by FIFA’s ethics judge from the organization he had run for 17 years. “I have the support of my daughter, I have the support of Linda (Barras), my love”.
Platini was paid in February 2011, just before Blatter began campaigning for re-election against Mohamed bin Hammam of Qatar. Platini was among those who voted for the tiny desert nation.

“If you look at past World Cups, one after the other you have to ask if you could have won a World Cup bid without being suspect. Even if I am suspended, I am still the president”.
