Nebraska population keeps growing slowly to 1.896 million
Seven states saw a population decrease: IL (-22,194), West Virginia (-4,623), CT (-3,876), MS (-1,110), ME (-928), Vermont (-725) and New Mexico (-458).

Between Jul. 1, 2014 and the same date this year, D.C. gained roughly 12,392 residents, from 659,836 to 672,228. North Dakota’s population growth continued its upward trend to new heights in the past year despite the slowdown in oil activity in the western part of the state.
The bureau’s most recent estimate put the state population at 756,927 in July, an increase of 16,887 residents – or about 2.5 percent – compared to July 2014. Meanwhile, New York lost about 158,000 residents to other US states.
So the total “net domestic migration” loss since the 2010 census was 653,071 people, the most of any state, the group said.
The latest population estimates also indicate that the city is likely to surpass its record population-802,000 in 1950-within the next twenty years.

For example, NY 134,160 foreign immigrants over the past year, second only to California, the group said.
