Eva is the fifth storm to hit this winter, after Abigail, Barney, Clodagh and Desmond swept across the country at the start of the month, leading to heavy flooding across Galway.

The yellow wind warning is also in place until midnight on Wednesday.
Southerly winds veering southwest which will gust up to 110km/h and stronger gusts of up to 120km/h between 4pm and 9pm are what we can expect this time around.
The national forecaster has also issued a yellow wind warning for Leinster, as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
“The storm has been named Eva, as there is an Orange Status wind warning in operation for counties Galway, mayo, Sligo, Donegal and Clare”.
It will be bright and sunny in the morning in many areas so get those Christmas dog walks out of the way early.
The Met Office has released a warning that Eva could arrive on Christmas Eve, with winds of up to 70mph in northwest Scotland. It will become colder in this evening, with temperatures dropping to between 3 and 6 degrees.
Met Eireann has said that it will be wet and very windy countrywide tomorrow evening and early tomorrow night with gale force southerly winds and some very severe gusts in exposed western and northern areas especially.
RAC spokesmanSimon Williams said: “Festive travellers should be prepared for a mix of conditions, including strong winds and rain”.
