That film had the advantage of opening in China on the same weekend it opened everywhere else. Disney has literally turned into the Scrooge McDuck money vault with the launch of this new franchise. It’s been inextricably linked to “Star Wars” since 1977, when Kenner sold empty boxes at the holidays because it couldn’t keep up with demand for action figures.

In the 30 days leading up to the premiere of Force Awakens, more than 53 million people had 126 million interactions on Facebook about the film. Neither, however, could come close to the film starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley among others. However, some Star Wars fans were anxious when they almost saw the end of the film before viewing it, due to a malfunctioning projector.

Part of the reason is because the available pirated copy of Star Wars was allegedly captured by a shaky handheld camera, which hardly does justice to a visually stunning movie that can only be appreciated in theaters.
