Price-Hike Drug Tycoon’s Twitter Account Hacked
Last week, 32-year-old Shkreli was arrested on securities-fraud charges related to an old job he had at another pharmaceutical company; federal authorities charged him with running a “Ponzi-like scheme”.

On Monday, the pharma company announced that he had been terminated as the chief executive and also reported that he has resigned from his board seat on Thursday when he was arrested. Shkreli had gained control of the company in November.
Shkreli was part of a group of investors who kept KaloBios alive after the firm announced it would shut down. Shkreli denied wrongdoing. He’s accused of repeatedly losing money for investors and lying to them about it, as well as illegally taking assets from one of his companies to pay off debtors in another.
Shkreli maintains that he is not guilty. He is free on a $5 million bond.
Last week, Shkreli was removed as chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, a privately held company in NY that he co-founded late previous year. “Willing to donate hundreds of thousands to charities before I go to prison”, and asking people to re-tweet a message for a chance to win the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album that he notoriously paid $2 million for.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has investigated Mr. Shkreli three years ago, even its probe became a higher priority this September after Mr. Shkreli raised the price of Daraprim 50 times after the buyout of the medicine.
In a statement, Tilles thanked Shkreli for his time at Turing and wished him “the best in his future endeavours”.
His spokesman said on Thursday that he denies the charges, which are unrelated to the drug price hike, and is confident he will be cleared of them.
“Trying to find anything we could to stop him, was the attitude of the government”, Shkreli said.
Shortly before noon on Monday, it appeared Shkreli had regained control and move to a new Twitter handle.
At the moment Shkreli remains at the helm of KaloBios, a company which he joined as CEO last month, although The Street has suggested that efforts are already underway to achieve a separation.

His Twitter account was hacked by an unknown attacker on Sunday. But Shkreli believes it is related to the recent drug price increases.
