OBJ hit with one game suspension by NFL
Coughlin is preaching to his New York Giants that Beckham’s actions are unacceptable, yet he didn’t pull him off the field for even one play during Sunday’s meltdown against the Carolina Panthers.

It seems like a long shot that Beckham would win his appeal.
Although it is likely Beckham will be suspended, he can still appeal any league decision and continue to play until it is heard and ruled on. Needing to win both of their remaining two games, while needing NFC East leading Washington Redskins to lose both of theirs to even have a chance at the playoffs, losing Beckham for one game would be the final blow to a disappointing season. Panthers star Josh Norman and Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. got into it all throughout the day, with Beckham Jr. being the aggressor. Beckham clearly should have been ejected from the game when it was clear that his repeated on-field confrontations with Norman had gotten out of hand. In November, after they’d staved off a late rally by the Colts to push the game to overtime, Newton and his receivers were animated in their home locker room as they recounted his best dimes-perfect throws-of the game.
There have been many words being exchanged about the game on Sunday. The suspension was imposed by NFL Vice President of Football Operations Merton Hanks, who ruled that Beckham’s actions placed his opponents at unnecessary risk of injury and should have been avoided.
During the Giants’ 38-35 loss Sunday at MetLife Stadium, Beckham repeatedly faced off with Panthers cornerback Josh Norman, the New York Times reported.
You have to ask “The Joker” who is laughing now after Sunday’s loss by the Giants and Beckham Jr’s one-game suspension. On some plays during the game, Beckham and Norman simply started wrestling as soon as the ball was snapped.
All true. But by all accounts Beckham has been consistently coachable and respectful inside the Giants facilities, which is why his bosses and quarterback swear by him. He is not allowed at the team facility this week and can not have any contact with the team.
On ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, former Baltimore Ravens outspoken linebacker Ray Lewis said that Beckham, “Went too far”.
Many people were calling for Beckham’s ejection as the game wore on, with Norman echoing those sentiments post-game. There was no media availability with Beckham on Monday. “These guys want to play”, Rivera said. “You going to get out here, and you’re going to dance around and prance around like you’re a ballerina, that goes to show you”. Beckham took a running start of several yards and launched the crown of his helmet at the earhole of Norman’s helmet, blindsiding the cornerback.
“He was 15 yards down the field and went straight for my head. It was just insane, man”, Norman said.
Beckham may or may not get away with it, as the league may still suspend him – or at the very least, fine him.
“I don’t think it was intentional or Odell made the hit like that intentionally”.
– Manning now has 291 career touchdown passes.
Thankfully the Giants coaching staff found its sense of style, returning to the days of the 2007 team which had a three-man rotation, with each man having a specific role rather than the arbitrary roles the 2015 backs have had for the first 12 games of the season.
