JK Rowling praises Potter play casting
However, the casting of the three primary characters was only just announced, and since Dumezweni is black and Emma Watson (who played Granger in the films) is white, the distinction has riled up the Internet’s usual suspects. Dumezweni will star alongside Jamie Parker (as adult Harry Potter) and Paul Thornley (as adult Ron Weasley).

The play itself, written by Jack Thorne, will show the three central characters of the series, Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron Weasley, working into adulthood at the wild Ministry of Magic. He, along with his son Albus, must confront the present and the past and “learn the uncomfortable truth” that sometimes, darkness comes from where you least expect it.
According to Sky News, J. K. Rowling said: ‘I’m so excited with the choice of casting for Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.
