Gareth Bale hits four as Real Madrid thrash Rayo Vallecano 10-2
Gareth Bale scored four for the first time in his Madrid career, while Karim Benzema struck his second hat-trick in three games as Real became the first side to hit double digits in a La Liga match in 55 years.

Real Madrid was losing with both teams at full strength at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, but it took advantage of two early red cards to Rayo Vallecano to get back into the game and ease the pressure on coach Rafa Benitez, who was loudly jeered before the match. It’s the matchball from Real Madrid‘s 10-2 win over Rayo Vallecano, which Bale left with after scoring four of the goals.
“We came out strongly, but after we scored we relaxed”, Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas told Spanish television.
“It’s been a long time since I saw something so grotesque and shameful as what I did today”.
Ramos was responding to comments made by Perez last month, when he said embattled Madrid coach Rafael Benitez was “the solution, not the problem” with the Spanish capital club third in La Liga.
Ronaldo netted the resulting spot kick to give Madrid a 3-2 lead.
After right-back Danilo scored the opener, it was time for Real Madrid fans to feast on the exploits of the attacking trio of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, as they lived up to their billing as one of the best forward lines in the world. Champions Juventus registered their seventh straight victory, coming from behind to down Carpi 3-2 in the first ever Serie A meeting between the clubs.
“We conceded the goals early, but then the team reacted”, said Benitez.
‘We have to do more of everything. “And now when you see blokes crying buckets, it’s not because they put 10 goals past us but for what went on”. “It’s normal that the fans are unhappy as we are not in first place, which is where we are obliged to be and where we want to be”.
“If the president says Benitez is the solution, that is what he will be”, said the Madrid captain. This was also his 2 hat-trick for Real so far.
