Shah Rukh not part of ‘Ram Lakhan’ remake
With a domestic total of Rs 74.79 crore and overseas earnings of Rs 131.17 crore, Dilwale looks in good stead and must maintain its performance without struggle to notch big numbers at the box-office. But I think what affected the Friday and Saturday collections were “the ban” in Rajasthan and MP.

“We are getting competition from others as well…”
The “Chennai Express” helmer thinks “bans” are the outcome of “misunderstanding” and if dealt with patience things can be settled out easily. But then they went a little too far. No government or private group had banned the movie. Some theaters had voluntarily canceled the shows following protests.
Varun, who attended the Stardust Awards told reporters that he is soon planning to catch a show of “Bajirao Mastani”.
As the Great Friday descended with the year’s two most awaited movies – Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale, Nagpur movie freaks were super excited to crowd cinemas to be the part of this big screen extravaganza. “As an artist I am happy with it”. Coming to “Bajirao Mastani”, an expensive film clashing with the director who is also called “Blockbuster Shetty”. This time, Shah Rukh’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment has distributed Dilwale.
“Bajirao Mastani” made Rs.12.80 crore on its opening day after releasing in 3,050 screens in India, while it is reported that “Dilwale” made its way into as many as 2,700 screens. This is the first film that Shah Rukh has independently released his film and hence has to compete with veteran players in the field.

Earning Rs 65.09 crore in its first weekend, Dilwale’s Monday earnings plummeted by the anticipated estimate of 55 per cent, resulting in earnings of Rs 9.70 crore. Be it multiplexes or single screen theatres, both the movies registered house full occupancy in the city.
