A new survey released by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah showed that a majority of Palestinian respondents support the current wave of terror stabbings and a violent intifada and oppose a two-state solution with Israel.
“Indictments are a rarity when Israeli soldiers or settlers resort to violence against Palestinians and investigations can last for years before being closed, absolving perpetrators of any wrongdoing”, Brad Parker, attorney and worldwide advocacy officer at Defence for Children global – Palestine, told Al Jazeera after the arrests.
Mr Abbas has previously refrained from either endorsing or condemning the attacks, often referring to the wave of violence as understandable but not in the best interests of the Palestinian people. Israeli police said the Palestinian was shot dead at the scene by Israeli forces.

“We continue to be gravely concerned at the unrelenting violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and in Israel”, Pouilly said, adding, “We call on both Israeli and Palestinian leaders to act decisively to de-escalate the situation”. The Israeli government responded that there could be no justification “for wanton attacks on civilians”. The poll found that 65 percent of Palestinians believe Abbas should resign. He stated the city would erect protecting barriers near bus stations on the city’s main traffic arteries.
