Martin Shkreli resigns from Turing Pharmaceuticals after fraud charges
Evan Greebel, a NY lawyer who was believed to have aided Shkreli in his schemes, was similarly arrested, and also pleaded not guilty.

The 32 year-old Martin Shkreli stands accused of reporting positive performance to investors while in reality his fund experienced significant material losses amounting to 99.9 percent of the hedge fund’s value.
Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical executive arrested Thursday on charges of securities fraud related to a company he previously ran, has resigned as the head of one of the companies he now runs, Turing Pharmaceuticals.
“The legal matters concerning the founder and CEO Martin Shkreli are personal and have no bearing on Turing Pharmaceuticals”, the company said on its website on Thursday. Shkreli founded the company early in 2011 and was sued by Retrophin and fired last fall after his alleged misappropriations were revealed.
Following Shkreli’s arrest, many Wu-Tang fans – and those offended by the CEO’s business practices – have hoped authorities would seize the LP.
After he was bailed, Shkreli tweeted: “Glad to be home”.
The arrest came as part of a federal investigation involving his former hedge fund, MSMB Capital, and his previous pharmaceutical company.
Mr Shkreli and Turing argued that the privately held company needed the higher revenue generated by the price increase to fund research into a new and better treatment for the condition, toxoplasmosis. He was charged in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday in a federal indictment.
“We remain committed to ensuring that all patients have ready and affordable access to Daraprim and Vecamyl”, the company said in its statement.
Last month, Shkreli acquired a majority stake in publicly traded drugmaker KaloBios Pharmaceuticals Inc. and became CEO of that company too.

“Thanks for your support”, Shkreli told some 800 viewers on the Youtube broadcast. Shkreli joined KBIO in November when he purchased 70% of the company’s outstanding shares.
