MLive’s David Mayo breaks down Pistons’ win over Heat
The Detroit Pistons had plenty of time to recover after a four-overtime marathon at Chicago on Friday and will try to pick up a third consecutive win when they visit the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Committing zero turnovers in the quarter, the Pistons would get large threes from Blake, Tolliver, Jackson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to take the lead with two minutes left in the game.

Up by as many as 18 points in the first half, the Miami Heat (16-11) blew the lead and lost 93-92 to the Detroit Pistons (17-12) in what ended up being a tight game down the stretch.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh missed jumpers in the final three seconds for Miami, though replays suggested Bosh’s might not have counted anyway.
The Pistons were also 15-for-29 from 3-point range. They committed nine turnovers in the first quarter and fell behind by 18 early in the second, but recovered behind a flurry of 3-point shots and led by two at halftime. The Pistons had five shots on one possession early in the third, and a four-shot possession late in the second.
Entering as one of the bottom 10 teams in the league in 3-point shooting, the Pistons started launching from beyond the arc in the second quarter – and it keyed their comeback.
Kobe Bryant tied a season high with 31 points after missing a game, leading Los Angeles back from a 21-point deficit. Drummond would have another double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Steve Blake hit a 3-pointer, then after a Heat basket the long-distance onslaught heated up, with a 3-pointer from Anthony Tolliver, then another from Blake.
Before Bosh scored the last five points of the quarter for Miami on a corner three and pretty fade away shot, Justise Winslow tied the score at 70 with a steal and a high-flying dunk over Ersan Ilyasova on the break.

“They missed great shots”, Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said. Bosh keeps taking 3-pointers though, and is actually making them at a decent clip, which has helped fantasy owners retain some value. Hardaway essentially sat underneath it Tuesday, now that he’s a Detroit assistant.
