‘Star Wars’ proves the force is strong in sequels
“‘Star Wars‘ had the greatest villain in cinema history”. It has pulled in a record breaking $529 million around the world, and just broke the Monday box office record held by Spider-Man 2 since 2004.

But both outlets agree that in addition to millions of dollars upfront, Ford will also get some percentage of the profits from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and with the biggest worldwide opening of all time, that may add up to be a pretty significant chunk of change. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, director J.J. Abrams explained why. Newcomers John Boyega and Daisy Ridley were paid in the low-six figure range ($100k-$300k). But just how much money did “The Force Awakens” actors earn to join a galaxy far, far away? And yes, in this version Han Solo shoots Greedo first in the Cantina. Some of the, like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), we spend a lot of time with and get a fair amount of their storynot to say that were not left with mysteries.

But with all that dough rolling in, you have to wonder how much the cast was actually paid for this particular installment.
For someone who was in fourth grade when “Star Wars” (back when the title was just that, with no “A New Hope” appended to it) was released, this was a heretical thought.
Braden, who won a free seven-year pass to any movie shown at the local Alamo Drafthouse chain of theaters and a collection of Star Wars merchandise, told The Hollywood Reporter that it was “a grueling ordeal, even though I loved the movie”. And they have never appeared in a tentpole blockbuster before.

I have no problems giving Star Wars: The Force Awakens 4 out of 5 raindrops. The antagonists could have been better developed and the call backs fewer, but Abrams nevertheless delivered a worthy addition to the Star Wars saga.
