Swansea sack manager Garry Monk
After being unbeaten in the first four games of the season, the Welsh club has won just one of its last 11 games – the most recent being a 3-0 home loss to Leicester on Saturday.

“Garry took on the job 22 months ago with the backing of everyone at the club”.
And the Independent reported on Friday morning that Swansea are keen to run the rule over Giggs’ immediate managerial intentions as they step up their pursuit to replace Monk in the coming weeks.
However, since beating United they have managed only one win in 11 league matches and are only one point above the relegation zone ahead of this weekend’s trip to Manchester City.
Sky sources understand Brendan Rodgers – who was the initial favourite to take over from Monk – is not in the running to return for a second spell as manager.
And the 61-year-old, who scored 95 goals in 359 appearances for the club, says the players and staff must take the blame for the dismissal of Monk and three members of his coaching team.
Monk was Swansea captain when Jenkins appointed him as Michael Laudrup’s replacement in February 2014 and he could give another novice a chance in Giggs.
Monk had guided the Swans to a highest ever Premier League finish of eighth in his first full season.
Giggs is now assistant to van Gaal, and has been widely touted as a contender to take the top job at United when the Dutchman’s contract runs out at the end of next season.
The 42-year-old Welshman is now serving as Louis van Gaal’s assistant but with Manchester United in turmoil following their exit from the group stage of the Champions League on Tuesday, speculation is growing that Giggs will swap Old Trafford for the Liberty Stadium.
“I have always tried to improve the principles and values that we have built at this club on and off the pitch on a daily basis”.

He would present a major coup for Swansea, but convincing him to leave United after so many years will be a real challenge.
