The office of the Kerala governor P Sathasivam filed a complaint with Air India and the Aviation Ministry on Wednesday, after he missed a flight from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram, Hindustan Times reported.

Although Raj Bhavan described leaving the Governor behind a “serious mistake”, Air India sources said the flight left on time as part of its policy of carrying out operations on time.
This was even while Air India officials were waiting at the ladder point with the Governor’s boarding pass. According to reports, the pilot was informed by the manager about the governor, but he refused to wait and closed the door.
The Governor was then given lodging on the Ernakulam Guest House.
Sources at Raj Bhavan faulted Air India for a “communication gap” between the flight crew and the ground staff that resulted in the faux pas.
When the Governor reached the Nedumbassery Airport at 10.40 pm, he was not allowed to board the flight. “We waited till 11.30 for any update on the Governor”.
Kerala Governor Justice P Sathasivam failed to board an Air India flight from Kochi after the pilot reportedly refused to wait for the dignitary and took off.
The flight had just pushed back when the Governor’s auto had reached the tarmac.
CM who was not aware of the incident, said he will enquire about it.

They say that a governor has to be the last person to board a flight, so there may have been some “miscommunication”.
