Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special is on BBC1, Christmas Day, 6.15pm.
Aliona’s potential sudden exit from the show, following in the footsteps of fellow professional Ola Jordan who also quit this series, could leave the show in crisis.
Commenting after their win, a “spaced out” McGuiness said: “It’s been one of the most special things I’ve done – and with the most special person”.
“We’re really happy that you liked it”, he added to the audience, before shedding a few tears.
On the night, Kellie had scored two flawless 40s while Jay ended bottom of the leaderboard, the only one of the final three to not post a ideal score for any of his routines. Georgia May Foote had come in second with 112 while Kellie Bright topped the board with 119, a score which included two 40s.
It was finally up to the public to decide whether Georgia, Kellie or Jay should win the competition as they prepared to take on the showdance challenge. “We’ll see”, he told radiotimes.com on whether he’d get an inking in memory of his time on the show.
BBC Proms presenter Katie Derham finished in fourth place, while Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote came third.
“You have been extraordinary”, he told her. Bruno said that Jay’s arm movements are among the best of the male celebs he’s seen. “I’d be proud to put you in any of my West End shows”.
The BBC previously said her claim was “nonsense”, saying: “Any suggestion that the scores are “fixed” is nonsense. No matter what happens you get a best friend”.
Turning to Aliona, Jay paid tribute to his married dance partner and said: “You deserve it so much”.

The star-studded final included appearances from this year’s contestants, The Great British Bake Off’s Mary Berry and chart-topper Ellie Goulding.
