‘Big Shot’ Tarantino Given Hollywood Star
Quentin Tarantino is waging wars on multiple fronts.

I am usually a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s films, in spite of a host of sometimes unnecessary violence, but I found The Hateful Eight to be a victim of the writer/director’s prior success. But there’s also a lot more that it does better than his most recent works and some new ideas that make it more than just another hit; it’s one of his best movies. After learning the ropes of the western with Django Unchained, we get a superior film with a contained plot, combining elements of Agatha Christie murder mysteries and John Carpenter thrillers with ’60s serialized western TV shows like The Virginian and Maverick.
Inside, there are several men, all with stories of their own, and well played by Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir and a very good performance by Channing Tatum in an unusual role.
Just in time for the opening of his new movie, Oscar-winning filmmaker/provocateur Quentin Tarantino got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday, unmolested by his police-union critics. He suggested some cops who shoot civilians are “murderers” and he stands “with the murdered”.
“One of the things I wanted to do before Pulp Fiction to some degree or another…one of the outside projects that I considered doing was doing a Luke Cage movie”, Tarantino said. According to TorrentFreak, the copy of “The Hateful Eight”, which is “extremely clean and free from timestamps”, has been downloaded over 220,000 times already. Frequent collaborator Samuel L. Jackson spoke during the ceremony, saying “We go to movies to be happy”.
The sought-after director previously threatened to cancel the production of “The Hateful Eight” after an online leak exposed the film script earlier this year.
One such group is Hive-CM8 and accompanying its release of Tarantino’s latest film over the weekend, the group said this was just the beginning.
Another review of the latest Tarantino “whodunit” by the Examiner mentions that the public’s enjoyment of The Hateful Eight will depend on their “tolerance for Tarantino’s long-windedness”.

The Hateful Eight opens this week in select theaters before opening wide on New Year’s Day. Adding to the allure is that Tarantino, along with cinematographer Robert Richardson, make the film look as if it is indeed from a previous era.
