But after a week when Terry was parted from the manager he described on social media as “the very best I have EVER worked with”, the final word had to go to him. The answer could well be no. Chelsea have most probably improved their immediate fortunes for this season in deciding to part ways with Mourinho, but they have arguably shot themselves in the foot big time from a long-term perspective.
