Roman Abramovic Turns To Didier Drogba For Chelsea’s Redemption
– Reuters picMONTREAL, Dec 19 ― The Montreal Impact today denied that striker Didier Drogba had been contacted about a return to English Premier League club Chelsea, in turmoil since sacking manager Jose Mourinho.

On Sunday, Hiddink himself confirmed to ESPN he would like to see the 37-year-old Ivorian join his backroom staff. “No contact has been made with the club or him”, The Major League Soccer club posted on Twitter.
“We definitely intend to get him involved”, the Dutch manager said. This would put a dent on the sporting and marketing ambitions of the Impact if it loses Drogba one year earlier than planned.
But The Sports PR Company, which handles Drogba’s account, tweeted Wednesday that a similar report in a London daily was “completely fabricated”.
“He is a legend, both in and (outside) of the club”, he said.
“We want to get important players involved with the club they care about”.
Such a move would be in line with Drogba’s comments on his return to Chelsea in his book, and even before, such as when he left in 2012 and claimed he would come back even if it was just as the groundskeeper.
After the MLS playoffs, Drogba denied talk of a loan to Chelsea, but didn’t rule out spending some time training with his former teammates.

Drogba won four Premiership titles with Chelsea and a Champions League crown in 2012. Chelsea sits 15th in EPL standings with five wins, three draws and nine defeats, 20 points behind surprise leader Leicester.
