Josh Norman fined $26K for actions on Sunday vs Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.is appealing a one-game suspension for multiple on-field confrontations against Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman. They plan to file an official letter of appeal Tuesday and request a hearing date for Wednesday.

A win for the Giants will help them improve their playoff chances, but they need to do that without Beckham who already tied his reception total last season this 2015 with 91 catches for 1,396 yards and 13 touchdowns. At one point, Beckham launched himself into the head of Norman after a play was dead.
Odell took shot after shot at Norman, including a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit that occurred in the second half of Sunday’s game.. Schefter also said Norman was swinging a bat during pregame warmups, which supposedly helps explain why Beckham was in a more aggressive state than usual. If Beckham’s appeal is turned down, the Giants will be without their best offensive option.
In a letter to Beckham, Hanks expressed, “At numerous times during yesterday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, your actions placed a fellow player at unnecessary risk… and clearly did not represent the high standards of sportsmanship expected”.
One thing the Panthers fifth-year coach did make clear was being upset about what he said were untrue reports that some players taunted Beckham with physical threats and homophobic slurs before Sunday’s game.
Rivera wondered aloud whether Monday’s reports were somebody’s attempt at “spin control” while Beckham and the Giants waited for the league to announce his suspension.
“Largely lost in the antics of Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was the failure of his team to do anything about it”, Florio wrote.
Prior to Monday Night Football’s Saints-Lions contest, ESPN analyst and former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis revealed that Beckham came to him for advice after Sunday’s game. “You going to get out here, and you’re going to dance around and prance around like you’re a ballerina, that goes to show you”.

And, if National Football League referee Terry McAulay and his crew ejected OBJ from the game, possibly before that helmet-to-helmet hit, we might not be having the suspension conversation today. He was primarily covered by Norman and Cortland Finnegan, who he also fought with.
