Is Klay Thompson really the best shooting guard in the National Basketball Association?
In the Warriors quest for a second straight championship ring this season, Thompson is going to be an invaluable asset to the team regardless of his status among the NBA’s elite shooting guards.

Thompson, as well as two other shooting guards all have great stats for the 2015-16 season.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Thompson is an elite shooting guard, but to say that he’s the best in the league is ridiculous.
“I’m going to go with myself”, Thompson said of his pick for the top shooting guard, throwing up his hands.
Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is convinced that he is the best shooting guard in the National Basketball Association today, while backcourt partner Steph Curry is the top point guard in the league.
Unlike Harden and Butler, who are the best player’s on their teams, Thompson isn’t even the second-best player on his. Furthermore, the 25-year-old has scored 20 points or more in 10 of the 25 games he has played.
Golden State next plays Wednesday when it hosts the Utah Jazz.
We are only in December and there are many games left to play so the situation might chance in favor of Klay Thompson. He is also shooting 47.3 per cent from the field and 43.7 per cent from long range. For point guard, Thompson quickly said Curry’s name and after some consideration, he picked himself as the league’s best shooting guard. Meanwhile, Butler can rake in 21.5 points per game with 3.3 percentage on assists and 5.8 on rebounds. Plus as Thompson says, the Warriors are the best team in the league and are playing extremely confident right now.

Thompson, is no doubt playing one of the best seasons in his professional career, and in their past two games was the leading scorer for the Dubs in wins over the Phoenix Suns (128-103) and the Milwaukee Bucks (121-112). Inspired by his teammates achievements, he added, “I’m trying to catch him”. Just by a little, though. “He is one of the greatest and it’s been an honor to be in the same backcourt with him”.
