Preston Christmas bin and recycling collections to be disrupted
This year they have warned that anyone putting out extra rubbish beside their wheelie bin will have to deal with it themselves.

Are your bin collections disrupted?
Councillor Brian Ford, the cabinet member for Streetsmart, said: “We will do everything we can to keep delays to collections to a minimum over the holiday period, but if we fall behind due to unexpectedly high volumes or bad weather, we will catch up as quickly as we can”.
“We will not return for bins not presented in time”.
Recycling collections are also affected and households are being urged to put out any additional recycling in untied carrier bags.
Uncollected waste can be taken to Space Waye Reuse and Recycling Centre, in Pier Road, Feltham, or to a civic amenity in the neighbouring boroughs of Richmond, Hillingdon or Ealing.
Collections scheduled for Monday, December 21, will be made early on Saturday, December 19.
Green garden waste collections for subscribers to the council’s green waste service will be suspended from Christmas Day until they start again on January 11. Recyclable items will be collected from December 28 through to January 3.
Collections will then run to the normal weekly schedule after January 8.
Bin collections will then continue one day earlier than usual until Christmas Eve, when those usually collected on a Friday will be picked up.

Collections usually due in January 1 and January 8 will instead be taken on January 4 and January 9.
