Video Shows Panthers Confronting Odell Beckham With Bat Before He Headbutted Rival
The Panthers coach said Tuesday he is upset about what he says are untrue reports that some players taunted Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Compared to Beckham, who will miss a crucial game as his team barely clings on to their playoff hopes barring an appeal attempt Wednesday, Norman got off easy. His case will be heard by either James Thrash or Derrick Brooks, the hearing officers jointly appointed by the National Football League and the players’ union. Without him, the Giants (6-8) would be missing their best offensive weapon as they try to stay alive in the NFC East race.
Again, while Beckham was the one that drew all the attention, Norman really did nothing to calm matters either, no matter how much he may or may not have been provoked. He dropped two passes (including one that should have been a touchdown) and racked up three unsportsmanlike penalties which led to a one-game league-imposed suspension.
Those alleged threats apparently were enough to rattle Beckham to the point where he just wasn’t himself in a big game. The idea, the source said, would be to limit players communicating with each other to keep tempers from boiling over.
Those wondering why there weren’t any ejections from last Sunday’s New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game are not alone.
As impressive as he’s been, it will be a major liability for Giants quarterback Eli Manning if Beckham isn’t in the game.
On Sunday, Odell Beckham Jr. lost his head and may have ultimately cost his team the game, but he’s a 23-year-old athlete whose job is to play with passion and emotion. “You always want to set the tone early”.
The NFL is reviewing “the conduct of other players in the Panthers-Giants game” for potential discipline, NJ.com reported. “He’s different. It’s kind of like you’re playing your little brother and he gets mad at you for being too physical with him – throwing a tantrum”. ” Namely running across the field to dish a helmet-to-helmet hit on Norman at the conclusion of a play that neither was involved in”.
Norman was particularly peeved with Beckham’s headhunting in the third quarter, when Beckham went out of his way to run 15 yards down field and dive head first into Norman’s helmet.
