Payet set for January return
Striker Andy Carroll is a “big asset” for West Ham and is unlikely to be sold during the January transfer window, says manager Slaven Bilic.

West Ham have drawn their last four matches and have not won since beating Chelsea 2-1 in October, drawing five and losing two of their seven matches since.
Payet was initially ruled out for three months after he sustained the injury against Everton on November 7 and the goals have dried up in his absence with the side missing the cutting edge the France global provides them in attack.
Bilic said: “It is good news with regards Dimitri”.
“It is good news that Dimitri Payet is ahead of schedule”, Bilic told the club’s official Twitter account.
“He is ahead of schedule so he should train with us after the Villa game on Boxing Day”. For the Southampton game we could have one back, with a slight chance for Carroll for Villa.
However, a swathe of injuries to the aforementioned players, as well as Andy Carroll, Winston Reid, Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho have slightly the breaks on the rampant Hammers.
“Every game is hard in the Premier League and Aston Villa are struggling, but they played a good game against Newcastle last week”, he said.
“So, make no mistake I am not expecting anything easier than against Swansea, Stoke or Manchester United”.

He warned his players not to treat Villa, at the bottom of the table, lightly, adding: “I have seen the energy, seen their quality and they are fighting for their lives. They have some quality players who can harm you”.
