Odell Beckham Jr. Apologizes for Behavior, Suspension Upheld
Odell Beckham Jr. was probably not thinking of stock returns when he slammed into Josh Norman during the Giants’ loss to the Panthers last Sunday.

Now the Panthers are losing the bats some players would carry on the sideline during pregame warm-ups to use as a motivational prop.
“You never want to hurt your team like that, and I have learned throughout my life, always, second man gets caught”, Beckham said Sunday.
Ball suggested he’d been falsely accused.
“I’m a little disappointed in it, to be quite honest”, Rivera said. Beckham was at National Football League headquarters in Manhattan Wednesday, arguing his appeal to former Washington and Philadelphia wide receiver James Thrash.
The suspension will cost Beckham $52,529 for his role in the altercations, or 1/17 of his salary.
NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino told NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access” on Tuesday that Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. “We got a number of guys on our team who are really good about that”. Beckham reportedly is appealing his suspension Wednesday. One for $8,681 (face mask) and one for $17,363 (striking an opponent in the head/neck area). He is expected to appeal. Norman has also appealed.
But even if Norman or any other Panthers player did not say those things, other comments from Norman and Carolina safety Cortland Finnegan are just as disturbing.
Beckham arrived at the building at 12:03 p.m., three minutes after the reported noon start time of the meeting. “Having said that, unless there’s an audio or something out there to show me…” You’d like that it didn’t happen. And he’s going to grow. It was a selfish thing to do and wasn’t called for. Rivera said homophobic slurs are an important social issue and he doesn’t take them lightly.
Norman and Beckham tangled from the earliest moments of Sunday’s game, when Norman slammed Beckham to the ground after one of the Giants’ first plays.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old’s actions versus the Panthers, specifically the helmet hit on Norman will make him miss their Week 16 showdown versus the Minnesota Vikings.
If Beckham does not play, each of the other receivers will be counted on to do more, including Rueben Randle, Harris, Myles White, rookie Geremy Davis and Hakeem Nicks, who has one reception in each of the four games since joining the team last month.

“Beckham certainly was wrong”. But there were factors involved, starting in pregame, which are well-documented, which indicate that there was an attempt to provoke him.
