Josh Norman, Panthers CB, fined $26044 by NFL
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) New York Giants punter Brad Wing says Odell Beckham Jr. was threatened by an unidentified bat-wielding man dressed in Carolina Panthers sweats during pre-game warmups Sunday.

Beckham and Norman had heated exchanges throughout this past Sunday’s game but the most significant infraction, the National Football League said, was “a late helmet-to-helmet hit against a defenseless player”. His apology did not mention the Panthers or Carolina cornerback Josh Norman, who scuffled with Beckham throughout the Panthers’ 38-35 win.
Beckham Jr., thought to be the protagonist in most of the incidents involving both players-he received three unnecessary roughness penalties throughout-wasn’t ejected from the game, but post-game speculation that he would be punished by the league materialized Monday, when it was announced that he would be suspended for 1 regular season game.
After several media outlets reported Tuesday that Carolina (14-0) provoked Beckham in the pregame by threatening him and using anti-gay slurs, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he wouldn’t respond to “assumptions and innuendos” and pointed out none of the claims had come from Beckham or anyone with the Giants.
According to Wing, he heard Ball tell Beckham, “I’ll be the reason this will be your last game”. Hearing officer James Thrash upheld the suspension for multiple violations of safety-related playing rules after hearing an appeal by the New York Giants wide receiver earlier in the day.
“I apologize to my teammates, the Giants organization, and to all fans of the NFL”, Beckham said. “People expect better from me, and I expect better from myself”.
“I apologize for my actions on Sunday”, Beckham said in a statement.
“I keep the game, and Coach Wilks always say keep it green”, Newton said at Wednesday’s press conference.
The Giants won’t have wide receiver Odell Beckham against the Vikings on Sunday night.
Beckham tweeted out a statement on Wednesday right after news broke that his suspension was upheld.
On Wednesday morning, Giants coach Tom Coughlin had offered a forceful and passionate defense of his star player. “It’s not fair, it’s not justice, it’s not the way it was”. “If you’re naive enough to think that way, then you’d better do some soul-searching yourself”.
“The last time we were talking about Atlanta, we were talking about a desperate team”, Newton said.

Irvin confirmed that Panthers players were directing slurs toward Beckham and said it’s not the first time. He was wrong. There’s no doubt about it. You’d like that that didn’t happen. In a game against the Buffalo Bills, video appeared to show Beckham throwing a punch at a Bills player after getting blocked.
