Pellegrini ‘undermined’ by Pep talk
Manuel Pellegrini insists the speculation surrounding Pep Guardiola’s availability for next season is not affecting his Manchester City squad and has gone as far as suggesting players do not perform for a particular manager in any case.

The players believe Guardiola is coming, Bayern Munich believe the ex-Barcelona boss is going to City and, while Chelsea might still try to make him change his mind, don’t bank on it.
Guardiola has also been linked with Manchester United, but the club are reportedly more interested in taking on Mourinho.
“We are grateful to Pep Guardiola for everything he has given our club since 2013”, said Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Pellegrini bemoaned both his team’s failure to capitalise on the opportunities they created and also the way Arsenal’s goal came about despite them having fewer chances of their own. “I am sure he will be very important for the club”. I’m disappointed today that I didn’t start but I’m not the coach.
Although his Chelsea firing was over a “palpable discord” with his players as Mourinho presided over the worst-ever defense of a Premier League title, a good coach doesn’t suddenly become a dud within seven months.
Some United fans may still remain hopeful that Guardiola will be the next man to try and emulate the work done by Sir Alex Ferguson during his 26-year tenure at the club.
“They know the way I think, act and prepare for games”. I think they deserved to win.
The blue half of Manchester is a logical destination for the talented Spaniard, and the club hierarchy have never made their admiration for Guardiola a secret.
Manuel Pellegrini is open to staying in the Premier League beyond the end of the season and could be a surprise target for Chelsea this summer.
He won three league titles, two Champions Leagues and a Copa del Rey while at the Nou Camp.
