NHS choir battles for Christmas number one
Though his single “Love Yourself” sat at number one in the midweek charts, Justin has said that for one week it is “ok not to be #1”, and put his efforts behind the NHS. “It’s Christmas. @Choir_NHS good luck http://www.nhsno1.com/download”.

The race for the U.K.’s coveted Christmas No. 1 spot is tighter than ever, and Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” now has the lead.
Harriet Nerva, a junior doctor at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridge, started the campaign with two others as a celebration of the NHS’ work despite not knowing any of the staff involved in the single Bridge Over You.
The Canadian singer has tweeted: “Let’s do the right thing and help them win”.
Biebs, who is safe to say isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, has redeemed himself massively by requesting that the general public buy an NHS Choir fundraiser single.
One mother responded: “My 18 months baby boy would not have made it if it weren’t for the wonderful NHS”, while another commented that “Our NHS are the most unbelievable health establishment and they do not get anywhere near enough praise, recognition or pay”.
Proceeds from the song – a mash-up of Coldplay’s Fix You and Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water – will go to Carers UK and Mind.
You can download the song with a percentage also being distributed to Samh (Scotland) and Niamh (Northern Ireland).
Unlike 2009, the X Factor single has barely dented the charts, with Louisa Johnson’s winning single “Forever Young” only reaching number nine last week, behind Stormzy’s single “Shut Up”.
The much-anticipated race will end at midnight on Christmas Eve, with the results being announced by 1pm on Christmas Day.
