Adrian Peterson: Odell Beckham Jr. Suspension Is Not Warranted
The NFL has upheld Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-game suspension for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Carolina Panthers’ cornerback Josh Norman.

Odell Beckham Jr. says he’s sorry for repeatedly cheap shotting Josh Norman during the Giants vs. Panthers game this weekend… admitting his behavior was “embarrassing”.
Beckham appealed the ban, but it was thrown out by National Football League appeals officer James Thrash.
The Panthers counted 12 Beckham-related incidents during the game in which he was the instigator, including 10 involving Norman. A decision is expected some time on Wednesday afternoon. “If you are naive enough to think that way, you better do some soul searching”. Shouting homophobic slurs at someone, while threatening them with a baseball bat is also inexcusable and what was practice squad player Marcus Bell doing at the away game anyway?
Granted, Beckham’s rise to fame has been meteoric, and he’s not the most humble person on the field.
“It’s certainly an accumulation of instances and not just on Beckham”, Blandino said.
Beckham tweeted out a statement on Wednesday right after news broke that his suspension was upheld. Beckham released a statement on Wednesday apologizing to his team and teammates.
Wing said Beckham was going through his normal pre-game routine, which includes some dancing, when the problem developed. He was provoked. He was out of control, he was wrong, there’s no doubt about that.
According to Merton Hanks, vice president of football operations for the NFL, Beckham deserved the suspension because his actions put his opponent at an unnecessary risk of getting injured, plus the fact that he could have done something to avoid it.
Then there are things that were allegedly said to Beckham… Panthers spokesman Steven Drummond denied that any member of the team used the bat to threaten Beckham, adding that the bats are a tradition and meant to “symbolize home-run plays and ‘bringing the wood'”. I was not raised to act like I did the opposite day.

“For me, looking at the tape, there were two or three opportunities early in the game to throw a flag and set the tone”, Blandino said. Quarterback Cam Newton has made a strong case all year for the league’s Most Valuable Player honors despite having to absorb the kind of backlash only a charismatic, unapologetic, talented, competitive and – this can not be diminished, either – black quarterback gets in today’s NFL.
