Tian Zeming was rescued around dawn on Wednesday.
Migrant worker Tian Zeming, 21, was among the 76 people reported missing after the massive landslide in Shenzhen destroyed more than 30 buildings on Sunday. He believes his wife was still alive and repeatedly insisted he could show the rescuers her location.
A man was rescued after been buried for more than 60hours in a massive landslide in southern China.
“He said he missed his mother very much and thought to himself, “I must get out”, a rescue leader was quoted as saying.
According to reports, the landslide happened when a huge man-made mound of earth and construction waste collapsed after heavy rains, prompting the government to open an official investigation into the incident.
Firefighters had to squeeze into a narrow room around Tian and pull debris out by hand, rescuer Zhang Yabin told the state-run Xinhua news agency.
He said the teenager was in stable condition and had undergone surgery at the Guangming New District Central Hospital.
On Tuesday, the police raided the offices of Shenzhen Yixianglong Investment Development, the firm that owned the dump site, and arrested one of its deputy general managers.
Densely packed with few air pockets, in some places the mud and debris was piled four stories tall, CCTV reported.
“At 5:40am this morning, rescuers from Longang brigade of the fire department of Shenzhen’s public security bureau found a male victim’s body at Dongsikou working area during search and rescue work, and the victim’s identity is still being confirmed”.
“As long as there is a sliver of hope, we will never give up”, Zhang said.
“About one million square meters (247 acres) of soil waste is left every year in Guangming New District and there’s need to find its way out”.

In an announcement dated July 10, officials said work at the site was not being carried out according to approved plans and ordered the Hongao Construction Waste Dump to “speed up” work to bring its operations into line. However, there is no explanation as how so much mud has engulfed the area.
