Cops: Prostitute charged with killing psychiatrist in motel

Philadelphia police have identified a 75-year-old man found dead in a city hotel room, a belt wrapped round his neck, as a local psychiatrist. Police said Tuesday that the case was being investigated as a homicide, and the arrest was announced Wednesday afternoon.

Philadelphia police officials said today that Manuel Baez, 27, strangled Baker inside a fifth floor hotel room at the Rodeway Inn in Center City early Monday morning.

Baker was a well-known psychiatrist who had been in practice for relationship problems and spiritual difficulties for over 40 years, according to his website.
