A woman accused of intentionally plowing a auto with her child inside through crowds of pedestrians on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk has been arraigned on murder, hit-and-run and child abuse charges.
The felony cost of kid abuse and neglect accuses Holloway of endangering her daughter, who was driving in the backseat.
LAS VEGAS (AP) – A woman accused of intentionally plowing a auto carrying her child through crowds of pedestrians on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk is distraught and overwhelmed, her defense attorney said after she briefly appeared in court for the first time.
Wolfson characterised the standard of surveillance video that captured the crash as “excellent”.
The sheriff said Holloway was very stoic and did not appear to be “distressed” from her actions.
“We can all agree this is a shocking and tragic event”, Abood said. Six people remained hospitalized Wednesday, including two in critical condition.
Documents filed Tuesday list the charges against 24-year-old Lakeisha Nicole Holloway, who is due in court Wednesday.
While there was some initial speculation that Holloway may have been motivated by terrorism to commit the crime that led to the death of an Arizona woman and left 36 people injured, Las Vegas police have ruled out the attack as an act of terror. Her attorneys said today she plans to plead not guilty.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson stated outdoors courtroom that the proof he has seen is obvious, and that further costs are possible, relying on the outcomes of drug and alcohol checks and police findings.
“This is a surprise to everyone”, Abood said.
Holloway is on suicide watch in jail, where she is being held without bail.
She stood upright and nodded her head when asked if she understood the charges against her.
According to her arrest report, Holloway told detectives that she was stressed and exhausted after being kicked out of several parking garages at Strip properties while trying to get some sleep in her auto.
Sachet said she joined the agency in 2009 and took a four-month break in late 2010.

She was featured in a 2012 video produced by the non-profit Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center, which helps at-risk youths with education and job training. In France, however, police did say that the unnamed driver reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” and “For the children of Palestine” while he was attempting to kill pedestrians with his vehicle. Holloway had been in Las Vegas for about one week before the crash and was living in a auto, officials said Monday.
