The local fire and rescue service says it has managed to free two people from the auto.
“The single decker bus also collided with a building”.
A bus has smashed into a building in Peterborough.
Seven people have been taken to hospital after a bus c rashed into a city centre building. A further 12 casualties described as “walking wounded” were treated by the ambulance service at a nearby triage centre.
A statement from the ambulance service said: “We have dispatched five ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers, and the Magpas air ambulance”.
The crash happened at 11:43am on Church Walk – an area to the north of Peterborough city centre.
Station Commander Jamie Johnson said: “The emergency services have worked extremely well together to successfully rescue and treat casualties”.
A team from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue remain at the scene and a police investigation into the crash is expected to begin this afternoon.
It is claimed that the bus was then trying to avoid a full collision before hitting the building.

The bus crashed into a building, so a structural engineer has been called to assess the “severe” damage. One sadly pronounced as deceased at scene. Another man and a woman were taken to a minor injuries unit and four people were treated and discharged at the scene.
