Spring weather expected for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

While some may be disappointed not to have a white Christmas, for those travelling to visit friends and relatives on Christmas Day, favourable weather conditions are expected across the country. “Highest temperatures of 11-14C with fresh southerly winds”. Most computer models agree that any rain or storms over Southwest Louisiana will remain fairly weak before intensifying as they track north of I-10. Buffalo just saw its first flakes over the weekend, and that will likely be gone by Christmas.

Scattered rain showers may develop through the day, and that would have a stabilizing effect. We could see snow and ice from the Texas Panhandle north to Kansas and Missouri. Strong to severe storms will be possible along with heavy rains as an intense storm system moves out of Texas.
