Putin hosts Modi for private tete-a-tete
Standing next to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin in New Delhi last December, industrialist Shashi Ruia signed a pact with Russian oil firm Rosneft that was meant to symbolise a new era in bilateral economic relations.

A series of programmes await in this short but very important visit for PM Modi.
Putin presented the items to Modi while hosting the latter for a tete-e-tete at the Kremlin in Moscow, on Wednesday evening.
Russian Federation and India, whose leaders have held annual summits since 2000, have shared close ties since the Cold War and are now partners in the BRICS group of emerging-market countries. “We remain confident that we are doing this, Russian Federation will do it with us”, he said adding that an atmosphere of trust continued between the two countries.

Mr. Modi said his visit would deepen the cooperation between India and Russian Federation in the economic, energy and security spheres.

The Summit would begin on the second day with the Prime Minister interacting with Russian and Indian CEOs.

Indian firm Reliance Defence Limited said Thursday it had chose to work with the manufacturer of the S-400 “on the entire range of Air Defence Missile and Radar Systems” that India needs.
In the nuclear energy sector, India is expected to offer a site in Andhra Pradesh to set up units five and six of Kudankulam nuclear power plant.
