Saints quarterback Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia
“I don’t know what exactly we’ve got going on here”, Brees said of his injury.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Brees suffered a torn plantar fascia in his foot in the Saints 35-27 loss to Detroit Monday night.
Brees completed 34 of 52 pass attempts for 341 yards and three touchdowns. With Cooter calling the plays, the Lions have been a much better offense, and that flows through Stafford. He is Detroit’s best player now that Johnson is aging and slowing down somewhat as a dominant WR.
On the year, Stafford is completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions with a passer rating of 93.7. Quin is in the concussion protocol, but Caldwell would not say how likely Quin might be to go on season-ending injured-reserve.
Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford on Monday used accuracy and poise to pass for 254 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Lions to a 35-27 victory at fast-finishing New Orleans. “Garrett has been here as well for the whole year”.
Wait a second: Caldwell offered no explanation for what led to safety James Ihedigbo calling a time-out at the end of the first half when the Lions were out of time-outs.
Payton said Wednesday that he won’t be able to answer questions about Brees’ ability to play this Sunday until the team hears back from Dr. Anderson. “That’s all we’re interested in, just being a little better than we were last week this week, because you’re going to have a team that has a different variety of talent, a different variety of difficulties for you”.
“(Flynn playing) would be my assumption. I know he was up.
“For me as an offensive player, and really as a team, we deal with injuries like this all the time”. The Saints trailed 21-3 at halftime and 28-3 early in the third quarter and were listless for the most part on offense, partly because of a foot injury that hampered Drew Brees, until early in the fourth quarter.
“It’s been a little tough”, Walker said of overcoming the injuries, “but it’s good to see the guys out here and stuff”.
GAME PLAN: The Jaguars will be trying for balance running and passing after Denard Robinson got only 14 carries last week and Blake Bortles threw 38 times.
Brees became only the fourth quarterback in National Football League history to reach 60,000 passing yards in a career. Heck, even if Brees just agreed to tack on three more years at $20 million per season, that would probably be less than he could command on the open market.
Instead, Abdullah put the ball on the ground immediately, and the Saints scored a touchdown five plays later.

“We’re kind of taking it day by day”, Payton said. I don’t know who it would be if Drew wasn’t there. “If a player has a risk to further injure himself, we don’t play him”. Benjamin Watson had six receptions for 49 yards with a 1-yard TD reception and Marques Colston had an 11-yard touchdown catch among his two receptions for 39 yards.
