Justin’s a Belieber in the NHS Choir
The Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir’s single A Bridge Over You nearly closed the gap overnight and is now just 662 combined sales behind Bieber’s Love Yourself.

A physiotherapist is one of a NHS choir climbing the charts in the battle for Christmas number one.
It is the closest battle for Christmas Number One since 2009, when Rage Against The Machine’s single Killing In The Name took on The X Factor victor Joe McElderry’s The Climb and won.
‘Tis the season for giving, and Justin Bieber is feeling charitable – urging fans to buy a charity single, instead of his.
Speaking on Thursday’s Christmas Eve edition of Good Morning Britain, the 48-year-old host controversially questioned Justin’s motives in kindheartedly supporting the track.
The Canadian singer said on social media: “Let’s do the right thing and help them win”.
Proceeds from sales of the choir’s single will go to British charities.
But since then, the choir – which is made up entirely of NHS nurses, doctors, physios, midwives, porters, administrators and more – has gone from strength to strength.
The funds raised from sales will go to two charities, Carers UK and mental health organisation Mind.
The NHS Choir have been complimentary of Justin and thanked him for his support.
The choir’s joy is matched by misery for X factor champ Louisa Johnson who, in previous years, could have expected to romp to Christmas No1.
It is not yet clear who will get the number one as the official chart won’t be released until Friday (25 December).
“Before we pulled the plug we saw a huge gamble on the NHS Choir so it is likely to be a popular result with punters”.
