According to one of the producers of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, Steve Harvey is more than welcome to host the show again next year.
And then, just like it happened Sunday night, things come to a screeching halt when Miss Jamaica realizes that she, in fact, did not win and that they’re attempting to take away her crown.
Shortly after the pageant, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos tweeted a message of support to Gutierrez.
“I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world”. “The destiny of every person on this planet is already written, and mine is this”. And my destiny was this. Harvey, who publicly apologized several times for his “honest mistake”, misread the victor of the global beauty pageant as Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, when it should’ve been Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.
Gutierrez put a positive spin on the incident as well, saying that it had resulted in Colombia and the Latin community “being talked about in every corner of the world”.
It was also reported that Harvey had received an invitation to return as the host of the 2016 Miss Universe pageant. Gutierrez was stripped of the crown and sash, so that the rightful victor, Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, could be crowned. Thank you all for your LOVE SUPPORT and KINDNESS.
It has been a whirlwind few days for Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez.
Later, the 58-year-old American comedian apologised to both the women, writing: ‘I’d like to apologise wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake.
‘It is my mistake, ‘ he said after holding up the card for the camera.

“Nobody feels worse about this than me”, he said.
